Abstract: This talk discusses how your automobile is doing things behind your back and sometimes against direct commands from you.  You will learn what vehicles currently know about you and how they are sharing that information.  You will also learn how vehicles take control away from the driver including an interactive example where you will learn first hand how to reverse engineer vehicles signals.

Bio: Craig Smith is the author of the Car Hacker's Handbook and the founder of Open Garages.  Open Garages is a collaborative organization of mechanics, performance tuners, security researchers and artists.  He has also recently worked with the EFF to get two recent automotive related exemptions made to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and currently does freelance security for the auto industry.
