Daniel Rockmore and Keith Carlson featured in The New York Times

A new study by our very own Daniel Rockmore and Keith Carlson and a colleague from the University of Virginia found that the opinions from the highest court in the land are getting longer, easier to understand, and quite a bit grumpier, reports The New York Times.

The study, writes the Times, uses linguistic software to do a quantitative analysis of Supreme Court opinions.

Rockmore is the William H. Neukom 1964 Distinguished Professor of Computational Science and director of the Neukom Institute for Computational Science. Carlson is a Computer Science PhD student.
